These are my initial photographs for Track. Visually I have started my project quite literally as a starting point. I hope to move on from a literal viewpoint to a more conceptual viewpoint.
These shots are of the more literal track, in the form of train tracks. As I couldn't get too close to these tracks I decided to take these shots through the fencing and bring in the idea of how closed and private tracks are and the fact that you can't usually get close to them, creates a sense of danger and curiosity.
These tracks are again more literal interpretations, in the form of running tracks. I had to take these tracks through the bars again which I think adds to the almost secretive nature of the running track, the fact that you can't get close it, triggers a curiosity.
This track is of a pathway, a more interpretive version of 'track'. Any walk way or road is a track, it's something you walk along and create your own tracks too.
This is a more imaginative interpretation of the word track. In my opinion it tells a story of someone's journey and the absence of the coat and its earthy surroundings give you an insight into the track of that persons life, or journey.
I then started to think about the more interpretive side of track, photographing tracks in the form of roads and pathways and walk ways to illustrate the more every day side of track that we often don't recognise.
